Bilberry Tea

It is good to know that Boldo has 2 types. The Chilean boldo (Peumus boldus Molina), and the Brazilian boldo (Plectranthus barbatus Andr).

Containing active substances, such as boldine or rosmarinic acid, Boldo tea is a plant widely used in folk medicine to treat digestive and liver problems and is recommended to combat poor digestion and excess gases.

Bilberry also helps in the treatment of gastrointestinal cramps, heartburn, gastritis and colitis (inflammation of the colon).

Preparation

  • -2 teaspoon of bilberry leaves.
  • -300 ml to 400 ml of water.
  • When the water is boiling, insert the leaves, then turn off the heat, cover and let stand for 10 minutes.
  • Take preferably before or after main meals.
  • Tea can be taken hot or cold throughout the day.
  • tea should not be consumed for a long time. Low dosage protects the liver but high dosages have the opposite effect.
  • It is contraindicated for pregnant women and breastfeeding women, as well as patients with pancreatitis, hepatitis, inflammation of the bile ducts and cirrhosis.
