Preparation

boil the yuccas in water with salt and anise, then puree them and knead them with the baking powder and the prepared flour and a little butter or oil until a soft and workable dough is formed. spread with a floured rolling pin and cut them into slices, then place the jam in the center of each slice and cover with another slice, then join by folding up the edges in the shape of a star point. fry in hot butter or oil, drain the excess fat and sprinkle with powdered sugar. to serve
