Preparation
boil the milk with the lemon peel and 6 tablespoons of sugar. remove from heat, remove the lemon peel and pour into a deep bowl.
cut the bread into slices of an inch. Some people use sliced bread, but I prefer the normal bread, which was left over from the previous day. Soak the slices well in the milk. in a deep dish beat the eggs well. Arrange a shallow dish with the rest of the sugar.
put a skillet on the fire and wait until it is very hot. Then, remove the slices of bread soaked in milk, pass them through the beaten egg and place them in the frying pan, when they are well browned, on both sides, remove and drain. after drained, pass them, round and round, through the sugar bowl and place them in a fountain.
when we have finished a layer sprinkle with cinnamon powder. Arrange a second layer and sprinkle with cinnamon again. let cool to room temperature.
they are eaten cold.
