Preparation

place the ingredients in a saucepan, bring to the fire and bring to a boil. stir continuously with a wooden spoon (in old recipes they advised to do it with a fig tree branch because it gave it a particular flavor). lower the heat and continue cooking until it reaches the point that, when it is placed on a plate and it is cold, it does not slide. remove, place the saucepan over another with cold water and stir until cool. if an intense color is desired, add a pinch of baking soda when cooking.

variants

• with walnuts: once the sweet is made, add 1 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts.

• with honey: replace the sugar with 3/4 kg of honey.

• with chocolate: prepare the sweet according to the landlord's recipe and, about 5 minutes before completing the cooking, add 3 bars of grated chocolate.

• imitation pastry chef: heat the dulce de leche made according to the recipe and, when it boils, add 2 tablespoons of cornstarch dissolved in milk. boil for a few minutes until thick and cool before using.
