Preparation
Cut the apples into bite-sized pieces and pour on the lemon juice (this will stop the apples from going brown). Mix the apples with the celery, walnuts and mayonnaise, and taste for salt.
Ingredients
- 3 very red apples (Jonathan or Gravenstein)
- ½ lemon, juiced
- 3–4 young stalks celery, cut in 1 cm (½ in) slices
- 100 g (3½ oz) walnuts, lightly toasted in a frying pan
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- sea salt
