Preparation
Cut the bread into slices about 2 cm thick. Reserve.
Sauce:
In a pan place the starch, turmeric and cinnamon and add the milk gradually dissolving the ingredients well, then add the coconut syrup, stirring constantly until it thickens a little.
After thickening, transfer to a deep dish and let it warm.
Place a non-stick frying pan (if necessary, grease with coconut oil) over low heat.
Wet each slice of bread in the sauce until it is very wet and then put it in the pan.
Repeat the process until the bread is finished.
If sauce is left, place it over the bread in the pan, fry until golden brown, turn and brown the other side.
Sprinkle powdered cinnamon and serve!
Serves 4 people.

Ingredients
- 1 french-style bread
- Sauce:
- 2 cup vegetable milk (what I like to use is cashew and rice because they are more neutral in flavor)
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch or arrowroot ((if using rice milk you will need 1 tablespoon)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 (2 grams) teaspoon of powdered turmeric (optional but serves to give that golden color without interfering with flavor)
- 1 tablespoon of coconut syrup or another sweetener of your choice or to taste
